Sustainable Skies Summit
On Thursday 15th May, Year 9 attended the Sustainable Skies World Summit’s Careers Fair at the Farnborough Exhibition and Conference Centre.
After a short walk through the local area, they listened to talks on sustainability and aviation from industry experts including British Airways, Lux Aviation and the Royal Aeronautical Society who shared their passion for aeronautics and climate issues as well as key routes into the industry within their companies including apprenticeships and scholarship programmes.
This was followed up with the opportunity to walk around the company stalls to ask questions and explore a wider range of employers such as Rolls-Royce, Safran, EUROAVIA and connections to the local community with QinetiQ. Students got to experience cabin crew safety equipment, assemble a miniature jet engine and explore key net zero ideas with Get with the Programs coding robots!
Year 9 represented our school with pride – proudly wearing their dog tags made with The Air League for the rest of the day!
