Poetry by Heart 2025
This year’s Poetry by Heart competition was held on Monday 3rd March 2025 with twenty five year 9 class winners battling it out to be the overall champions. The standard was exceptionally high this year as the students had gone to great lengths to not just learn their chosen poem, but to really understand and connect with the themes and messages. A superb effort went in to delivering these poems with clarity and expression.
It gives us great pleasure to announce the winners:

In the not too distant future, the students who made a committed effort to this project will start to reap the benefits of this as it feeds directly into the speaking and listening component of their GCSEs and is a great introduction to their Literature poetry.
All 25 of the students who were entered for the final on Monday should be immensely proud of themselves – we know their English teachers are!
