London Sinfonietta Workshop
On 24th April 2025 some of our Year 9 Music and Wavell Band students had the exciting opportunity to work with a composer and musician from the London Sinfonietta Orchestra.
Over the course of the day, they learned what it means to be a composer, how improvisation can be used to generate ideas, and how to orchestrate and develop a composition. The piece they composed together was based on the local environment with a focus on wildlife, aviation, and nature. The composition will now be orchestrated for performance by the London Sinfonietta Orchestra in the 'Sound Out! on tour' at Princes Hall in July. We can't wait to hear it!
