Help Us Kick Off Our 3G Pitch Project
We’re thrilled to share the first official news of an exciting development at Wavell—plans are underway for the installation of a state-of-the-art 3G Football Pitch on our school site!
This is a project that has been 18 months in the making, following the invaluable feedback many of our school community shared during the launch of our new school vision. One clear and recurring theme from parents, students, staff and governors alike was the desire to enhance our sporting facilities—and in particular, the dream of a high-quality all-weather pitch.
The new 3G pitch will be a game-changer!
For PE lessons, it will provide a reliable, top-quality surface whatever the weather. For extra-curricular sport, it will dramatically increase what we can offer—more clubs, more training, more students engaged. For fixtures, it will give our teams the facilities they deserve, enabling us to host more home games and build pride in representing Wavell. And perhaps most importantly, it will support the physical and mental health of our students—providing space, structure and opportunity for exercise, teamwork and wellbeing.
But this isn’t just about our school. We are proud to be partnering with Rushmoor Community FC to ensure the pitch benefits the wider community too. When not in school use, the pitch will be a fantastic asset for local football teams, community groups and residents of all ages.
Now we need your help.
Before we officially launch our Fundraising Campaign, we want the Wavell community to help us name it! We’ve come up with a shortlist of potential campaign names and we are asking students, staff, parents, carers and friends of the school to vote for their favourite.
Voting closes on Friday 27th June!
Once we have our campaign name, we’ll be kicking off a full range of exciting fundraising events and opportunities to get involved. If you have an idea, a contact, or would like to offer help in any way, we’d love to hear from you!
