Festive Fun Run Raises Thousands for Local Hospice

On the last day of term before Christmas our Year7, 8 and 9 students donned Santa hats, elf hats and reindeer antlers for the annual charity Christmas run in aid of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.

The festive event saw them running and walking around the school grounds, accompanied by Christmas music that kept spirits high throughout the chilly morning while the photo booth proved popular capturing some festive poses!

It was wonderful to bring the school community together to spread some Christmas joy whilst also making a positive impact on the lives of others and we are delighted to tell you that the school raised a fantastic £3,484.04 in sponsorship! Thank you to all of our community who generously donated to the cause.

It is thanks to your support that we are able to continue our hospice care in the local community, looking after patients and their families free of charge when they need us most. As well as raising money, your support also means that children in our area will have an increased awareness of Phyllis Tuckwell and the role we serve in the local community.

You may remember only 25% of our costs are usually covered by the Government/NHS, which means we have to raise over £25,000 a day to continue our care, free of charge for patients and their families, so we rely heavily on our community for their support. Overall, this year £80,000 was raised for Phyllis Tuckwell from our Christmas Runs at local schools and nurseries!
