On 20th March 2026 a group of Year 10 were invited to Rushmoor Council to debate the motion "Fossil Fuels are essential for the future of UK energy".

Two teams debated the motion (for and against) moderated by the Mayor of Rushmoor. Both teams brought their research and debating skills to the fore in a tightly contested debate.

An expert judging panel reviewed the speeches, questions, answers and the teamwork before narrowly awarding the win to the Fossil Fuel team.
