We Care to Challenge

Charity Dress Code Day

For £1 (or more if you are able) students can wear SMART CASUAL clothes. Fancy dress and dyed hair will NOT be permitted.

The academic year 2019-20 represents a milestone for the Wavell School, we are turning 50! To celebrate this momentous occasion we are planning a number of events and need your help.

We will be starting our celebrations and fundraising efforts on Wednesday 17th July with a Charity Dress Code Day, where for £1 (or more if you are able) students can wear SMART CASUAL clothes. Fancy dress and dyed hair will NOT be permitted.

Other events for students that were launched in House Assemblies last week:

  • Design a 50th anniversary logo to feature on our correspondence during next academic year
  • Design a totalizer to record our fundraising efforts – this will be displayed in school and on the website
  • A House Competition quiz in form time on the 17th July

We are all about celebrating our values and community and we want to leave a legacy for the next 50 years so our fundraising will contribute towards various exciting projects over the coming year. Please keep an eye on our website and social media for news of upcoming events. We would love to hear from you if you used to attend Wavell. What was it like? What are you doing now? Please drop us an email with your memories and any ideas of events/fundraising you would like to see or can help us organise. We will be opening a crowdfunding page in order to fund a commemorative statue and celebration garden.  Details will soon be on our website and we would be absolutely delighted if you could contribute’

Thank you for your continued support of the school and our nominated charity for 2019-20 “The Friends of Wavell”.
