Careers and Post-16 Progression
Aim: To raise expectations and have no ceiling of aspiration
"High-quality guidance informs students of their future options and prepares them very well for employment, training or further education." (Ofsted)
The Wavell has a very comprehensive careers programme. Careers lessons are delivered by Form Tutors through the PSHE programme in conjunction with citizenship, and cover a range of topics including decision-making, self-awareness and communication. Students have access to a well-maintained Careers Resources Library within the LRC which is staffed throughout the day.
Resources available include:
- College prospectuses
- A library of books and information leaflets on individual career choices
- Access to an appropriately qualified, impartial careers specialist
The Wavell School will make available a range of education and training providers to ensure students are informed about academic qualifications, approved technical qualifications and apprenticeships.
